Had a WONDERFUL weekend with my menfolk and seeing people I love dearly but don't get a chance to see very often. The festival was small and lovely, and I fell in love with a few angora bunnies that nearly came home with me, but GB managed to pull me away just in time.

See why I want him home all the time?

(no need to adjust your monitors - with the cowboy hat, I just had to play with the "sepia" setting of the camera...)

Bess won an award for her beautiful hat (which you can see in her September 20th post), Jennifer's booth was beautiful and full of customers and I got some amazing fiber to play with from her (and I think I'll get more of that Polworth if she has it at Rhinebeck!) Neither my sock-hat nor my bag won - and didn't deserve to at all - you should have seen the amazing felted items they had! I wish we'd remembered the camera, because the entries were just stunning. And the laceweight didn't even get entered... I spun like a mad woman Friday night in the hotel room, my finger was actually raw the next morning, but I realized that I had spun it thinking I would ply it, and didn't bring a ball winder. It was way too overspun for singles, and so it sits on the bobbin still... But my other skein did get entered, and won a second place ribbon, so I'm more than pleased.

Remember this?

It became this!

...and won me this!

That's three ounces of shetland and two ounces of silk... destined to be a shawl, I think...

It's a madhouse around here today, and in my life in general right now, as I've got some nutty stuff going on that needs extra prayers and positive energy.

(oh yes, and did I possibly forget to mention the third addition to my spinning wheel collection???? Hmmm... guess you'll have to check back tomorrow to find out...)

I just KNEW you were going to win something! Congratulations. What was the lovely prize you won? Inquiring minds need to know. ;) Yes, if the felted stuff was as amazing as it was last year, it was a really tough category. (Last year, someone did a really big felted bird, complete with eggs and nest.)
I hope things calm down for you.
