HASH(0x8b6230c)
You speak eloquently and have seemingly read every
book ever published. You are a fountain of
endless (sometimes useless) knowledge, and
never fail to impress at a party.
What people love: You can answer almost any
question people ask, and have thus been
nicknamed Jeeves.
What people hate: You constantly correct their
grammar and insult their paperbacks.

What Kind of Elitist Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

To be fair, I married GB even after his repeated use of the words "fustrated" and "honery", so I can't be that much of an elitist, can I?

I'm sitting here in the office humming "I Enjoy Being a Girl" to myself. The station is moving, and as I sit here in my office, it sounds like the sky is falling down around me, as all the men are tossing furniture, grunting, breaking things down, and tossing them into the dumpster. I'm sitting here, slightly isolated from the chaos, doing paperwork.

Last night was Knit Knite MD, which is always fun. New faces each time, and we've got quite a diverse group of women, which is fantastic. We're getting big (and LOUD) so I'm going to remention to everyone that we'll need to start thinking about other meeting locations, since we're more likely to get kicked out of Borders if we take up anymore tables (we were up to four tables last night). Plus, I'll need to put another phone list out next time, since I haven't done that since our first meeting. We've doubled in size from that night, and the e-mail list has more than tripled.

Tonight is date night, which means dinner out and a movie (gonna finally see "The Village"!) and GB has promised to look at the book I bought last night with me. It's The Harmony Guide to Aran and Fair Isle Knitting and it's got hundreds of cable patterns in it. The sweater that he confessed he would wear was cable-y, and I'm hoping he'll see some cables in this book that he likes and take part in designing something for himself. I'd hate to put the many hours of work into making him a sweater and that have it never be worn.

And thanks to that book, I think I've finally become reinspired about the Blizzard sweater I'm doing. I've done the sleeves close to where they would join, and I want to do a colored cable up the front, but I keep changing my mind about what cable I like best. I found one that would be PERFECT in the Harmony Guide, and I can't wait to get started on it... but I'm going to try to finish my Follies sweater before I really get going on Blizzard. The Follies is a lighter yarn, so it will be wearable before the Blizzard, and I'm trying to work on my fickle tendencies. Plus, that will give me plenty of time to really finalize the design I want to use, and to practice the cable a few times on swatches before I put it to the sweater.

But I like that book so much, I'm going to look and see what other Harmony Guides there are, and maybe add them to my (extensive) Amazon wish list!

Thoughts for the Day:

Proverb - “Many a genius is never honored until the future proves his inspiration.”

Oscar Wilde - “Men always want to be a woman's first love; women have a more subtle instinct: what they like is to be a man's last romance.”
