Rhinebeck: An Epic Adventure Chapter 4. What a Wonderful Whorl

Princess Amie had the whole day before her. Should she take more classes, or go shopping?

Eventually, it was decided that she would take a class in colorwork and a class in lacework with Sorceress Annie.

She enjoyed herself a great deal, learning tons and tons, and hopes to take more classes with such a strong and powerful sorceress again.

In fact, another student on a similar Quest For Knowledge was from a Kingdom where the Princess had once reigned over the airwaves. Upon discovering this, Princess Amie introduced herself, as Queen Gavin of Kisseffemm, which is how her subjects knew her in that region. The woman was shocked, and Amie pleased to have been remembered fondly.

After her classes, the princess thought to take her dear friend, the fairy princess Loireag to a great magician who would be able to restore her to her original beauty.

Dave the Magician told our fair princess that Loireag is probably around 150 years old, a parlour wheel, and repairs should be fairly minimal to restore her to her original glory.

On her way back from the Magician's lair, the princess encounter many other magicians - first, a great and powerful man named Golding. There she spun on an amazing work of art.

In a moment of weakness, the princess offered to exchange her DSS, a lovely 12-year-old who is big for his age and would make a lovely farm hand, so that the princess may bring the wheel home with her. Magician Golding laughed, but refused.

Moments later, she fell in love again, this time with a Norman Hall wheel. The beauty of these wheels glow beyond belief. No artist rendering could ever accurately depict it. They spin with a beauty well in equal to their looks, which is why there is a seven year wait list to get the wheels, and why Princess Amie wants desparately to be on that list. Shelia went home with one of the fair demos... Princess Amie is quite jealous.
But then the princess went with Martha to look at wheels, and spun on another little beauty. The Robin - a beautiful bit of genius, which has the look of a small troll hunched over, and spins like water pouring from a fall...

The princess has decided that she and Prince GB need to move, to find a larger castle into which they can fit all of these amazing wheels!
Castle
But before long, it was time for the Princess to head back to her loving husband, the prince. Her Quest For Knowledge was complete, and it was time to put that knowledge into action.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's final chapter:

are the golding wheels as breathtakingly beautiful in person as they are in pictures? They're within driving distance to me. Must practice restraint and save money first. Must have one before I die though.

Eagerly awaiting the finale and totally drooling over those wheels. I think the offer of the strong young farm hand was a good trade :)

I have the strangest feeling that I'm in a bizarro version of a Bullwinkle episode - "Fractured Fiber Tales."

Too funny! :-) I wish I could have gone this year.
