Repeat after me: GULP

Gulp.

I just got home, opened the mail, and there was a letter from work:

Dear Amie,
Thank you for your efforts, your contribution of our company and the many little "extra" things you do that help make our business better.

There is no doubt that our business is made better due to your fine work.

It is my pleasure to inform you that your paycheck of December 15 will contain a holiday bonus in the amount of $500.00. Please accept it as our way of saying thank you for a job well done.

Sincerely,

.... it was at this point my eyes were too blurry to even see who signed it (I found out later it was one of my very cool bosses that I like.)

$500.00

For some of you, that may not be that much. For me, it's enough that I burst into tears upon reading. That's more than a week's pay.

Gulp again.

OMG Congrats! Sure beats Dh's $25 GC to Meijer that he gets. Seriously, though, you have every right to be jumping up and down.

YAY FOR YOU!!!!! I am so happy for you - I know how you feel, a few weeks ago I got an end of year bonus; it goes a long ways towards making you feel a little better about your employer if they at least try to recognize your work. I always say "Nothing says thanks like cold hard cash!!!"

Wow! Amie, that is fantastic! In corporate America today, bonuses like that are truly few and far between. That was truly generous of them and a reflection of the esteem they feel for you. Congratulations!

Hey Amie! That's GREAT NEWS! Here in Japan, not only do we not get a bonus, we have to work Christmas Eve and Day, New's Year's Eve till 2 am and then come in again the next morning...and they won't give us a shuttle bus or taxi home. So much for life in the performing arts...
Love,
Laura :)

WOW! That is a lot of money, and I'm sure you deserve it. Enjoy it, Amie! Don't spend all of it on a bill or necessity.

$500 would be a huge big deal to me, so I know just what you mean. That's really great Amie, I'm happy for you, and even more happy that they realize what they have in you. *hug*

I know I'm late with my good wishes, but this is so GREAT! Do something fun for yourself (and your DH and DSS, if you want), and don't even think about the cost. Nice to know they recognize your contributions, and all of the things you've had to deal with, this year.
