Know what this is?
It's a just over 7 ounces of this
Which soon became this
which of course means it's mohair. With the holidays, things were so nutty I forgot to tell you about a mysterious package that came in the mail for me, from my KR Secret Pal. Like a bomb cat, Aslan sniffed it carefully to be sure it was safe. And then he kept sniffing. And then scratching a little. And I'd be lying if I didn't say there was drool involved. So before long I opened it, to find these lovely mohair locks, dyed by a friend of my pal's - FUN colors, yes? Can't wait to spin it!
Saturday was the big anniversary - year 1! We had a little bit of this
which I recall being a lot better at the tasting, but tradition is tradition. (yes, that's catfood in my freezer - where do you keep your emergency stash?)
Sunday I went out with two friends, Mary and Nancy (hola, Nancita!) and saw Spanglish. The commercials don't do it justice. It's not really clear what it's about, but whatever you think now, it's far more emotional and funny and loving than you think. Not without its flaws, it's not perfect by any stretch, but definitely money and time well spent.
And what with New Years Eve and the anniversary and the day out with the girls yesterday, I'd really rather be doing this right now
except I wouldn't fit on the computer, even if it is warmer. Plus, tomorrow is my first day teaching at the AC Moore, so I want to type up a quickie pattern for my students.

I'd like to take page from Aslan's book too. Somehow I think that my boss wouldn't appreciate it however! That mohair looks lovely!
Gld to hear a good review of Spanglish. We want to see it, too. Can't wait to hear about the class teaching experience!
Happy belated anniversary! Seems I've been hit or miss with some of my fave blogs. Sounds like you've had a great last couple of days. Congrats on a very successful class.
Hope you're still enjoying the afterglow of the last few days. :)
