Look Who's Upright!
I'm in a lot of pain, but my new best friend is Percoset. I'm not taking as much as they say I can, but I'll load up on the dose tonight before I attempt to go to sleep for the night. After an hour or so of not speaking to me, Aslan has forgiven me for not coming home last night, and I've spent most of the day sleeping surrounded by two cats and a dog, all being unusually quiet and tender. I would have dared anyone to try to get to their mommy with those little guards setting up shops.
We got to the hospital and it felt likethings were taking forever, but they ran pretty much on time. Once they put the anesthesia in, I remember them saying "okay, you're going to start feeling groggy now" and then they wheeled me around acorner and I was out. I think I woke up on the table, because I have a vague memory of panicking, and having lots of people yelling "Amie, stop fighting us,it's okay, Amie, calm down" but I couldn't see anything, and I couldn't breathe.
Obviously they got things worked out, and I'm home now, and none of the mishaps happened that should have done any damage to my voice (thank GOD!) so even though I'm very tired and hoarse right now, I should be on my way to complete recovery, driving everyone nuts with my chattering very soon.
Thanks for all the prayers! I'm going back to sleep now...

Thanks for the update, Amie! Keep up the fight!
((hug))
Wow ... I don't expect to hear from you so soon ... but it's great! Have lots and lots of rest ... you know you need it!
Oh, man - I was hoping for some "I'm still under the effects of anesthesia, and I'll tell you something goofy/way too personal"! Everything is even spelled right. Shoot!
Animals are so cool - so straightforward and honest. Glad everything went so well. Take all the time you need.

Welcome back. I'm gald everything went well. I sure did not expect to see an entry this soon.
Hooray! You're home! I was really surprised (but glad!) to see an update so soon!!
I was hoping you or GB would post something tonight! Glad to see you're home and your pets are taking care of you. Animals seem to always know what's needed (unlike kids... heehee). Rest well.

Oh, yay, I'm so glad that's over. I woke up in the middle of having my wisdom teeth surgically removed, I remember the surgeon basically kneeling on my chest pulling on the tooth and yelling, "She's waking up!" and then they knocked me back under until it was over. I was awake for the 2 c-sections, that wasn't bad at all because I could watch. But, like me, you resist being knocked out. We need to KNOW what's going on.
Aren't pets amazing? They "get it" without coaching. Rest your voice and the rest of you, and I'm so glad the scary part is done.
I'm glad to hear from you so soon! And Sallyjo has me cracking up--I was totally thinking the same thing about the spelling! Relieved to hear everything went well.

I woke up during my surgery for the ruptured ectopic, and clocked the doctor.
they knocked me into the following week
I kept setting off the apnia machines in post op.
I am so glad your home
and everything went ok
and that your voice is fine

who lit the candle and sat on your shoulder......( any comments about my fat ass or the tiny bit of heel drumming should be directed at thaddeaus)
Amie, I'm so glad to hear that you're doing well. I know your animals will take good care of you. I think sometimes they are the best medicine. :)
Here's to a speedy recovery and lots of knitting!

Good to know you have that over with. Get plenty of rest ;)
So happy to hear from you and so soon! Prayers for a continued speedy recovery are being sent on your behalf. Not that I have much influence, but maybe it will help. When you're feeling stronger, pet all the pets. They're doing a fine job, I think.
Glad you're back, glad everything went well, glad the pets are keeping an eye on things, and most of all, glad it's over! Feel better, Rose!
So glad to see you are doing well. Sounds like you take anesthesia like I do. I panicked coming out of it too. Heard one nurse tell the other "I put a pillow under her legs. That's what we do when they are kicking." The pillow that should have been under my head was on the floor. I think that was probably the worst part of my surgery, and one I never want to deal with again.
Amie I am sooooo very happy for you that all went well
I didn't tell you what happened to me because I didn't want to scare you
A hug for you today dear one
oops forgot to sign that last post shaggy
I'm so glad that you're home safely! I hope you get recover much more quickly than expected.
Glad that your surgery went well and that you're home. Amazing how the animals sense things are off and stand guard. My three cats took rotational guard duty one year when I had very bad bronchitis. I was never alone. I hope your recovery goes swiftly and is uneventful.
So happy to see that you're home and recovering! We'll all be sending happy thoughts your way!
Alright! Guess I forgot to check my bloglines last night. :) So glad to hear a good report. Will keep on praying.
So glad you're home! With furry ones to take care of you, you have the best of care.
I'm happy everything went well. Now get some rest!
Get well quickly Amie.....I miss your posts on KR....it's not the same without you!

I'm glad to hear you made it through with flying colors. Yay percoset! Take it easy and I hope you heal quickly.
I reread it, and I have to add. TAKE YOUR PERCOSET! Pain is bad, and slows down healing.
sallyjo
I'm so glad. I will still be keeping you in my prayers.
