Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes

One Year Ago I answered this questionaire. Please take note of the answer to question 33, about my greatest fear.

The very next day I got the news that sometimes your worst fears come true.

Not a day goes by that I don't miss her.
Not a day goes by that I don't talk to her.
Not a day goes by that I am not given colossal peace by knowing that my last words to her (and hers to me) were
"I love you."

I'm gonna take a little private time this weekend to do a little more talking to Sharon. But do me a favor - make sure the folks you love know it. You never know when you'll run out of time to tell them again.

~~~~~
525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love?
Measure in love. Seasons of love.
525,600 minutes! 525,000 journeys to plan. 525,600 minutes -
how can you measure the life of a woman or man?
In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned, or
the way that she died.
It’s time now to sing out, though the story never ends,
Let's celebrate remember a year in the life of friends.
Remember the love! Remember the love!
Remember the love! Measure in love.
Seasons of love! Seasons of love.
(Seasons of Love ~ from Rent, words and music by Jonathon Larson)
You know, I'm not usually a broadway musical kind of person, but I have to admit Rent (the movie) made me sob like a baby. And I thought of you through most of it, knowing how much you love both the musical and movie. And what Jane said. XO.
The only song from that soundtrack that ever stayed with me. (Sorry, not a huge Rent fan, although I will be the first to admit that my reaction probably would have been different if I had seen it even three years later.) I do find that song very touching and true, though.
Amie,
That song says so much, doesn't it? I could hear the melody as I read the words & they move me.
Sharon was lucky to call you her friend - I know you feel lucky to have done the same.
Lotsa XOXO to you.
Thanks, Amie. I, too, could hear the wonderful Rent cast singing as I read through the lyrics. Just a reminder to me to call my three daughters and say, "I love you," today.
Thanks Aime,
There isn't a day that I don't stop a little longer with a kiss or hug. Or smell the sweet smell of my babies heads. We need this as humans. To love and be loved. To feel comfort in others and to be a comfort to others. To let others know this.
I love you for being you.
What a wonderful reminder to appreciate those we love. Thanks for writing this.
I'm much aware of saying I love you lately - as I travel for work and get on airplanes - I never know if it will be last time I see someone I love.
